We started Tiles to help enterprises become AI native. AI adoption inside enterprises is bimodal today: engineering teams using coding agents are moving faster than ever. Yet knowledge workers outside of technical teams are not seeing the same type of leverage. We believe organization-wide AI transformation is impossible when non-engineering roles are locked out of it.
02From Personal AI to Organizational AI
As companies roll out AI to their teams, they rapidly see “AI power users” scattered across teams: individuals who have identified the best way to use AI for their specific roles and workflows. But leaders are unable to identify and scale these individual AI best practices across teams. We believe this shift from personal AI to organizational AI is key to ensuring uniform, scalable and long-term business outcomes for any enterprise.
03Empowering subject matter experts
Over the next decade, no role inside an enterprise will stay untouched by the influence of AI. Just like software engineering is rapidly evolving from writing code to designing and managing agents, knowledge work in sales, marketing, HR and Finance will also evolve. We believe subject matter experts – the people who understand the messy realities of the business – should be the ones building and owning AI leverage, not outside teams brought in to do it for them.
04Horizontal and model agnostic
One common approach to AI transformation is to bolt AI onto every current role or workflow as it exists. We think this misreads how fast knowledge work will change. Roles will evolve, and so will the models people use, from frontier models to open source. We believe that a centrally shared, collaborative, horizontal and model agnostic platform will be a defining feature of every AI native enterprise.

Jordan and Lakshmi met 9 years ago at Cockroach Labs. Jordan was VP Engineering and Lakshmi was his Product partner. Together, they built a precursor to Tiles to bring AI leverage to everyone outside of R&D. Within a week, 85% of the company used it every day. We started Tiles to bring the same level of AI leverage and transformation to all enterprises.
